Ophthalmic Women Leaders
BODEGA BAY, CA – March 20, 2012 – Ophthalmic Women Leaders (OWL) today announced the three finalists for its 2012 Visionary Woman Award: Tamara Bogetti, Suzanne Bruno and Marguerite McDonald, MD.
OWL members were encouraged to nominate candidates who have demonstrated leadership in helping women to advance in eye care. A committee of the OWL Board narrowed down the nominees to three finalists, and OWL members are now invited to vote on the award winner.
“We’re thrilled to announce the finalists for our inaugural Visionary Woman Award,” said OWL President Jan Beiting. “These three women have demonstrated incredible leadership in their careers and helped countless other women along the way.”
The award will be presented at OWL's April 23 signature Monday evening reception held in conjunction with the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) conference in Chicago.
The three finalists represent women in different roles in ophthalmology:
- Tamara Bogetti, MBA -- publisher at Bryn Mawr Communications;
- Suzanne Bruno, MBA, COE -- administrator of Horizon Eye Care in Southern New Jersey; and
- Marguerite McDonald, MD -- ophthalmologist with Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island.
