Richmond Products’ digital Luxmeter is designed to measure light values prior to the Pelli-Robson contrast test to ensure the correct illumination for contrast sensitivity. Accurate illumination of this contrast test to specifications is very important in order to exactly detect and manage various ocular diseases. Failure to calibrate the illumination can lead to misdiagnosis, especially when determination of the correct course of pharmaceutical intervention is being evaluated.
The light meter is an improvement over most other, conventional models because it measures the light illuminating the Pelli-Robson test charts and not the reflected light. The meter is provided with specific instructions tailored for use with the Pelli-Robson contrast test.
Richmond also offers the Pelli-Robson Contrast Sensitivity Test, which has historically been widely acknowledged by optometrists and ophthalmologists as the ‘Gold Standard’ for assessment of large, faint object vision. Frequent and regular testing of contrast sensitivity is critical in the early detection and management of Parkinson’s, Glaucoma, cataract and other eye diseases.
