South San Francisco, CA – MARCH 5, 2009 – Acuity Medical Education today announced they are jointly sponsoring a
CME Dinner Symposium at the 2009 ASCRS/ASOA Symposium & Congress with Medical Education Resources, Inc. The continuing medical education symposium is supported through an unrestricted education grant from Bausch & Lomb. The program is aimed at the Comprehensive Ophthalmologist and focuses on educating physicians on the increasing antimicrobial resistance to current fluoroquinolones and the studies being done now to demonstrate the clinical efficacy of new fluoroquinolone analogs.
Topics that will be covered include:
- emerging trends in the epidemiology of ocular infection
- mechanisms of microbial resistance to fluoroquinolones
- clinical relevance of multi-drug-resistant (MDR) Staphylococcus strains
- a review of early stage clinical work comparing new and old fluoroquinolones in the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis
The complimentary CME dinner symposium will take place Saturday, April 4th with Registration from 7:00-7:30pm and the Dinner Program from 7:30-8:45pm at the Grand Hyatt San Francisco.
