Between 2 and 13 million people are infected with the larvae of Loa loa, primarily in West Africa. Though this organism is more often associated with cutaneous larval migrans, it is, in rare occasions, seen in the eye.
This case, from Myanmar, is presented by Dr. Moe Kyaw. The removal of the parasite appears to have been complete.
