A group of six undergraduate students have been spending their summer at Oakland University’s (OU) Eye Research Institute (ERI) working on projects investigating causes and potential cures for eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts and retinopathy.
The students are reportedly taking part in OU's Summer Undergraduate Program in Eye Research (SUPER), which aims to carry out experiments that might lead to breakthroughs in treatments for vision loss. The students have access to the latest scientific methodologies and equipment, and work under the guidance of ERI faculty mentors on research sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
