ASCRS Foundation Asks Doctors to Provide Charitable Cataract Surgeries for National Sight Week

Yesterday, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) Foundation announced National Sight Week would take place October 11-17, 2016, as a week-long celebration of volunteerism.

Occurring in conjunction with World Sight Day on October 12, 2016, ASCRS is encouraging members of its Operation Sight network to contribute one or more charitable cataract surgeries in their communities during that week. The ASCRS Foundation will reportedly support the effort by providing a financial stipend for each surgery completed, and will mount a national and local media campaign to highlight the work done by Operation Sight volunteer surgeons in their local communities.
