Abbott recently reported positive results for its pivotal clinical trial of its Tecnis® Symfony 1-Piece Acrylic Intraocular Lens (IOL) at last week's American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) annual meeting.
According to Abbott, the study showed that people who received the IOL achieved significantly improved intermediate, as well as near, vision compared to those who received a monofocal IOL. The clinical trial included about 300 patients at 15 U.S. sites, and data will be used to support the regulatory application of the Tecnis Symfony IOL in the U.S.
