CHINO HILLS, CA, APRIL, 2012 – HOYA Surgical Optics, Inc. (HSO) announced today that they have received approval from the FDA to commercially distribute two models of clear foldable hydrophobic acrylic-optic aspheric intraocular lenses; the iSymm™ Intraocular Lens (Model FC-60AD) and the preloaded iSert™ Intraocular Lens (Model PC-60AD) in the U.S.
HOYA Surgical Optics is focused on helping ophthalmic surgeons confidently build their premium practices and believes that every patient is a premium patient. These lenses are an important addition to HSO’s line of foldable and pre-loaded IOL’s available with the Optimized Aspheric™ design.

This approval is another first in the US ophthalmology marketplace. HOYA Surgical Optics is the only company offering both UV Absorbing (clear) and Blue Light Filtering (yellow) IOL’s in preloaded and cartridge style configurations.
