Baltimore, MD. – April 27, 2017 – D-EYE, innovative pioneer and leader of advanced devices for mass health screenings and data analytics, is pleased to announce its presence at this year’s Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) Conference in Baltimore, MD. The company will showcase its smartphone-based retinal imaging system at the Baltimore, MD Convention Center May 7-10.
“We are pleased to announce our new product model and application improvements including the iPhone 7 system, our new quick release lens bracket and the ImageSelect™ application. Over the past year, we have continued to communicate with a multitude of healthcare professionals and have also partnered with medical schools which who have contributed ideas to improve the D-EYE platform, said D-EYE Vice President of Marketing, Spencer Lee. “ARVO is a terrific opportunity for us to introduce these new products and improvements to the retinal specialist”.
Introduced in 2015, the low-cost smartphone-based digital ophthalmoscope is being used by numerous specialists who have used a traditional ophthalmoscope as part of their examination practice. Various clinical comparison studies have been published over the last year including focusing on Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, and Hypertension as broad examples of what D-EYE can see. Several more studies will publish in 2017.
The introduction of the enhanced ImageSelect™ application allows the user to select specific frames from the video and save as individual jpeg or PDF images. A LAN share feature has been developed that moves the onboard application based HIPAA compliant patient file to a local area network for Windows PCs and Macs. The user can also preset and post edit photo settings to adjust or enhance images.
“D-EYE is working towards bringing more efficient and time savings smartphone based patient assesment platforms to the medical market that can be easily integrated with a patient record while adhering to a high standard of patient privacy on a global basis”, stated Lee. “The addition of ImageSelect™ to our D-EYE retinal imaging platform continues to bring the important ophthalmoscopy protocol back to the forefront of an initial patient physical exam.”
