Volk Optical
G6 true 360° Gonio lens and Merlin viewing system on display
Mentor, Ohio (August 24, 2010) – Volk Optical, the industry leader in aspheric optics, will be exhibiting at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Annual Meeting, October 16 through 19 at McCormick Place (Chicago, Ill.).
The highlight of Volk’s exhibit at booth 3926 will be its newly launched Merlin Surgical System for precise control of non-contact lens position and focus for clear, crisp views during vitreoretinal surgery. The Merlin system mounts beneath the optical pathway of any surgical microscope for accurate positioning and fine focus control, then rotates easily out of the surgical field when not in use. The fully steam autoclavable system uses Volk’s new ROLS¥ (Infinity) reinverter with adjustable interior prism for a custom fit to each individual microscope’s optical pathway.
Also new at the show is the G6 Gonio lens, providing the most comprehensive sweeping views of the anterior segment. The lens’ six mirrors are equally angled at 63°, eliminating gaps for visualization of the entire anterior segment at 1.0x magnification. Practitioners can quickly scan across mirrors and get a full view without rotating the lens. Volk’s “nf” (no flange/no fluid) design does not require viscous interface solutions. For handling flexibility, the G-6 comes with a ring or a 2-in-1 handle for a straight or 45° angled grip.
Volk will also be showing its entire line of diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical ophthalmic lenses, equipment, and accessories. Personalized engraving of Volk lenses will be available on-site at no charge. In addition to hands-on demonstrations, Volk will offer special show pricing and a free multi-lens case with purchase.
