RETINA WORLD CONGRESS RELEASES FULL MEETING AGENDA
Three full days of interactive discussion in the casual, relaxed atmosphere of Fort Lauderdale, Florida
SAN DIEGO, CALIF. — October 11, 2016 — Retina World Congress (RWC), a unique collaboration of international retina societies, today announced the publication of its preliminary full agenda for the inaugural meeting to be held February 23 to 26, 2017, at the Marriott Harbor Beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA. The complete meeting schedule and listing of esteemed global faculty can be found at retinaworldcongress.org.
RWC was born from the idea that there was no truly global collaboration in retina education and scientific exchange. As a result, representatives of more than 30 retina societies from around the world worked together to develop a program that will cover the most significant and clinically-relevant developments in retina today. The faculty and program selection process were unique in that the societies together designed the format and topics and suggested speakers for RWC 2017.
RWC will offer a variety of formats, including podium presentations, panel discussions, video segments, case-study presentations, debates and abstract presentations. Topics will cover a range of disease states, therapeutic and surgical innovations, and scientific advances. Three full days of content is planned for the meeting, and to date, 100 U.S. and international speakers have been confirmed for the meeting.
“The RWC Scientific Planning Committee has compiled a comprehensive agenda that is highly relevant to the immediate needs and interests of retina specialists,” said Rishi Singh, MD, president of the RWC Founding Board and Executive Committee. “We have endeavored to create a forum in which retina specialists from across the globe can learn from each other, engage in productive dialogue and help evolve standards of care for the prevention, detection, and management of retinal disease to improve our ability to preserve or restore our patients’ sight.”
The Scientific Planning Committee specifically asked that the inaugural RWC take place at the Marriott Harbor Beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This location offers a great opportunity for high-level, scientific exchange in a casual environment that so many retina specialists know and love. Attendees have the opportunity to earn up to 18 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM by day while enjoying the fun atmosphere of Fort Lauderdale with family, friends and peers by night.
