Retina's Rods And Cones Team Up For Better Night Sight

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Scientists have long believed that the eye uses the retina's rod cells for vision at night and cone cells to see during the day. New research at The Ohio State University Medical Center, however, shows that rods and cones team up to boost night vision.

New Clinical Ocular Toxicology Book Identifies 96 Drugs Detectable By Selected Color Vision Testing

Albuquerque, NM – 14 October 2008. A new book, entitled Clinical Ocular Toxicology – Drugs, Chemicals and Herbs, discusses in detail chemical and herbal medicines that cause or may cause adverse ocular effects. Among such effects are those that can be detected by some color vision tests. The book is authored by three eminent university professors of ophthalmology - Frederick T. Fraunfelder MD, Frederick W. Fraunfelder MD and Wiley A. Chambers MD.
